This CD-ROM presents an introduction to historical demography, focusing mainly on the causes and consequences of increased life expectancy. Using figures and other graphical material, it explores sources and methods, contraception and family planning, the demographic and epidemiological transitions, women's education, morbidity, life planning, and the demography of developing countries. There is also a list of current sources of demographic information and an extensive bibliography.
