"This report describes the user-friendly computer program PROFILE for estimating the parameters of demographic model schedules as a function of age. Model schedules can be constructed from a set of ready-to-use building blocks. The program offers various estimation methods, including maximum likelihood estimation if data on exposed population and numbers of events are available. Apart from describing the statistical theory behind the estimation methods, the report contains an exhaustive user's guide to the PROFILE computer program, which can be ordered from the NIDI."
