This set of three diskettes presents the IMS
(International Migration Statistics) database on international
migration for the OECD member countries. "Part I contains time
series of migration statistics based on reports submitted by the
correspondents of the OECD's Continuous Reporting System on Migration
network (better known by its French acronym SOPEMI). Part II contains
tables describing the origin and labour market characteristics of
immigrant populations based on survey and census data from Eurostat and
national governments. Part III contains social and economic indicators
for both OECD and non-OECD countries based on data from various
national and international institutions. The data is embedded in Beyond
20/20, a windows-based software package. Each part of IMS is divided
into a number of files containing a table of data covering one or more
variables (e.g. inflows of migrants, stocks of migrants) and dimensions
(e.g. country of origin, age)."
