These are the proceedings of the 1992 meeting of the Brazilian
Association for Population Studies, presented in three volumes. Volume
1 has sessions on sources of demographic data, new methods of fertility
analysis, the process of family formation and fertility, pre-transition
fertility, and demographic trends from 1850 to 1930. Volume 2 covers
sessions on infertility and contraceptive services, sexuality, women's
status, labor force participation, health and demographic aging, health
and epidemiology, and mortality. Volume 3 has sessions on ecology,
economic activity and spatial distribution, internal migration,
urbanization, and economic demography. The geographical focus is on
Brazil. The papers are mostly in Portuguese with some in
English.
