These two volumes present data and analysis from the 1987 census of Yap State, which is part of the Federated States of Micronesia, created in 1979 out of the U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands. Volume I, the administrative report of the census, contains data on age and sex distribution; place of residence; marital, educational, and socioeconomic status; place of birth; economic activity; fertility; and population by municipality and island. Data are also presented separately for the island of Yap. Volume II provides an analysis of the data for mortality, fertility, population growth, education, economic activity and socioeconomic status, and population projections.

This report presents data from the Sample Registration System (SRS) of India for the year 1985. "The report also contains an analysis of data relating to population composition, fertility and mortality. The analysis aims at describing the population composition by broad age-group, the levels of fertility both overall as well as for different age-groups of women, including married women, the overall level of mortality as well as the mortality level for various age-groups during the year 1985. It also aims at bringing out the rural-urban and inter-state differentials as well as sex-wise differentials wherever relevant. Further, the analysis aims at indicating the changes over the recent years."

All data are specified by demographic and socio-economic characteristics of heads of households and by characteristics of households (size, type and number of earners)."
