This is the fifth in a series of annotated
bibliographies of German-language demographic literature. The present
volume contains 681 citations to works published between 1978 and 1984.
It covers German-language publications, literature on German-speaking
countries (Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the German
Democratic Republic, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland), works by authors
from German-speaking countries, and other items such as reports of
conferences held in German-speaking countries. Indexes of personal and
corporate authors and a subject index based on the Population Index
classification system are included.

This is an introduction to the Dynamic Data
Base (DDB), set up jointly by the International Statistical Institute
(ISI) and the International Union for the Scientific Study of
Population (IUSSP). It provides information on the objectives of the
DDB, which are primarily to archive and disseminate information on
demographic survey data available in machine-readable form, the
contents of the data archive, survey research software, the provision
of tabulations and analyses, training programs, and publication
distribution. A section is included on access procedures to its
holdings. Sections are included on data from the World Fertility
Surveys (WFS) in developing countries, WFS in developed countries, data
from the Contraceptive Prevalence Surveys, and data from other surveys.

country.

This is a guide to census publications for
the Dominican Republic for the years 1920, 1935, 1950, 1960, 1970, and
1981. The materials are organized by census and "are grouped in four
categories: (1) census results; (2) coding and enumerator manuals,
census planning documents and miscellaneous; (3) territorial divisions;
and (4) agricultural censuses. The latter, while different from
population censuses, lists the number of persons according to farm size
and similar information."
The entries contain original titles in
either English or Spanish with no translations. Where available,
comments concerning the reliability of the data source are included,
and the location of the materials is noted. A separate section deals
with cities and urbanization.
