of the International Population Conference of the International Union
for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) held in Florence, Italy,
in June 1985. It includes the addresses given at the opening ceremony,

demographers' views into the 21st century, reports from the organizers
of the informal sessions, a tribute to the late Giorgio Mortara, and
the addresses given at the closing sessions. A list of contributed
papers, a list of participants, and an index of authors of papers
published in the four volumes of the proceedings are
included.
